Hail Damage? Here's How the Insurance Claim Process Actually Works

From lodging your claim to picking up the car: how a hail claim works with a Budget Direct Preferred Repairer.

Hail Damage? Here's How the Insurance Claim Process Actually Works

A single Sunshine Coast hailstorm can leave hundreds of small dents across your roof, bonnet and boot. The good news: most hail damage is textbook paintless dent repair, and if you're insured, the process is more straightforward than people expect.

Step 1: Lodge your claim

Contact your insurer and lodge a comprehensive claim for storm or hail damage. You'll get a claim number. That's all we need to get started.

Step 2: Bring it to our Bells Creek workshop

As an Budget Direct Preferred Repairer, we assess the damage under proper reflective lighting, document every dent and provide the assessment your insurer needs. More on how we do this on our hail damage repair page.

Step 3: We handle the rest

We liaise directly with your insurer and complete the repair using PDR, keeping your factory paint. In most cases you just pay your excess (if any) and collect a car that looks like the storm never happened. See insurance claim assistance for the full process and common questions.
